Hi, everyone!
I'm still holding on dearly to the tiniest bit of summer that we have left! I'm a warm weather girl, and I adore the summer months.
However, a recent trip to the flea yielded these yummy Honeycrisp apples, which evoke kind of a fall feeling to me.
I was inspired to share them with you as their colors looked so pretty in my dough bowl...
...resting gently on my favorite monogrammed tea towels...
with the soft sunlight coming in...
How 'bout you? Have you tried the Honeycrisp variety? They're our favorite!
I'll be back soon to report on my Country Living Fair experience!
Have a fantastic day!
Apples are good to eat and they look good too.
ReplyDeleteThank ypu so much for the digital Magazine I have red it many times already.
There where so many other magazines to read there too. Lots of inspiration.
Wish you a happy sunday.
Marit
sehr schöne dekoration!!! liebe grüße von angie aus deutschland
ReplyDeleteNatural beauty - yes, please. I love braeburn and gala apples, and don't think I've tried honeycrisp, but they look like they'd be good. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on CL Fair. And I hope you'll comment on how you think it's changed over the years, for better or worse, and why. Thanks!

I don't think that's a variety we have here in Australia. When I was growing up you could only get Red Delicious, Jonathon and Granny Smith. It's a different story now, but my favourite is Royal Gala.
ReplyDeleteThe apples bring a pretty dose of color to your dough bowl, Susan. Honeycrisp are my favorite apples, so they don't last long in my house!
ReplyDeleteI've been buying gala, but will look for the honeycrisp this week! Love your photos ~ artistic.
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be warm & sunny this next week (yay!), which I'm grateful for since I still have outdoor painting to do and we need to cut & stack firewood yet. I can't believe it's already the middle of September!
Have a lovely one, Susan. Hugs to you mom.
xoxo,
Lin
Your display of these Honeycrisp apples is awesome. They actually look too pretty to eat....however, I am very familiar with the delectable taste of this wonderful apple and it would be hard to resist. Have a Beautiful Sunday..
ReplyDeleteThose are my favorite apples, they're not quite ready for picking here yet, but I am anxiously awaiting.
ReplyDeleteGood morning my friend. I love Honeycrisps too they are my favorite. They make a great pie too. So sweet and juicy. I cannot wait to see your Country Living pictures. Woooo Hoooo I bet you had fun.

Susan,
ReplyDeleteHoneycrisps YUM! Your monogrammed tea towels are beautiful displayed with the apples in your wooden dough bowl. My antique wooden dough bowl is displaying tiny boo's I found yesterday, love the tiny white pumpkins. Mother Nature oftentimes is the best designer. Enjoy your day and savor the remainder of September. I haven't found any Honeycrisps in our area yet, enjoy.
XO,
Vera
Yes those are my favorite Susan. And just like you I am longing for a little more summer. But it's been pretty darn cold here already.....so not ready!Hope you are having an amazing time at the fair!
ReplyDeleteI've not seen that particular type of apple, maybe they stay in the cooler states. It's still hovering about 100-104 this week, but we are supposed to get another round of storms late in the week, remnants of another hurricane in the Pacific! Enjoy your Sunday! Blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteSusan, apples like that are art in themselves. I love honey crisp -- my very favorites. They look lovely. I'm a strong believer in using food as art/centerpieces/putting it on display. Why hide it all in the fridge?
ReplyDeleteI love honeycrisp apples too! They really are the best. Sometimes they can be hard to find though. I can't wait to hear more about your CL Fair experience. I can't wait for it to get here next month.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos, Susan! I love honeycrisp, too!
ReplyDeleteI like very much honey crisp. Your apples look so beautiful and delicious

ReplyDeleteSuch pretty photos, Susan! Honeycrisp are my son's absolute favorite apples! He won't let me make an apple pie without at least a few Honeycrisp in it! Seeing them in your dough bowl has inspired me to do the same. Now if I could just find that dough bowl.....:)
