A Renewed Patch of Backyard
Hi, everyone!
We have a little patio in our backyard-a patch really-that we don't use, and I've never done anything with it.
I decided I wanted it to look pretty, since our sunporch overlooks it, so I set about finding an inexpensive way to jazz it up!
I found this little iron table and the 2 chairs at 2 different shops, but thought their chippy white and rusty finishes matched up nicely! The whole set only cost me $35!
The sweet little garden angel came from the flea market, and she has a new home on the table.
Keith and I went to a sale years ago at the home of a popular Country Living magazine contributor. We got this huge (and heavy!) old shabby birdhouse from him, and I've never really had a good spot for it.
I added it beside the seating area, and I love the visual punch it gives!
I've had the concrete urn out here for awhile, so I added a pretty fern to make it complete.
The little red birdhouse was a gift from Keith a couple months ago, and he attached it to the tree for me.
The whole area has kind of a shabby, overgrown look, but of course that's just my style! :)
And now I enjoy the view instead of looking at a barren patch of patio!
Thanks so much for stopping by...
...and have a fantastic day!
Susan, The little spot looks good now. I need to do more with our backyard...because I see it as I cook or do dishes. Not very inviting right now. We really have had the worst year for doing any yard works. Just think of all the cute little pop in thing you can add through the seasons. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteWhat a difference a little love makes.
ReplyDeleteYes, this will be a fun spot to sit and relax and do great things with. They are already selling mums here in the north, this almost screams for big pots of white mums. Great Finds!
ReplyDeleteSusan you created a magical little dreamy spot. Looks so inviting.

ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty sitting area, Susan! I love everything you've added in here. It looks like such a nice place to chat with your hubby at the end of the day, under the shade of your trees.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty view! Hard to believe you found that cute bistro set for such a great price and I just love the huge white birdhouse!!

That is such a pretty little spot and a great find on the rusty and chippy white table and chairs.
ReplyDeleteSusan this is so you and I love the chairs. You have a perfect spot for that birdhouse. Keith sounds like a wonderful man like my John

I would paint or put on a protective coating to the patio set as rust keeps eroding things. If it has a protective coating it could still look shabby chic but not continue to rot away. Maybe if you had a little water feature you would wander out there more often.
ReplyDeleteLove what you did to the bare patio! What fun to collect the items for it, I bet!

ReplyDeleteI adore this little patio area under the tree!!!! Using imperfect garden furniture in cozy little places like this is my idea of perfection. Both birdhouses are wonderful, adding a touch of whimsy. What a delightful view you have from your sunroom...LOVE IT!!

ReplyDeleteI know you use the sun porch a lot but before your weather gets too cold, you need to go have your morning coffee/tea/water out there. Listen to the birds and watch whatever little critters scurry around out there! Very sweet and cozy place you have created! Blessings, Cindy
