One Man's Junk...
Hi, everyone!
I hope that you're having a great week!
I recently got 2 'new' treasures at the flea market and wanted to share them with you.
The first thing is this sweet concrete garden statue.
It's rough and shabby, but I fell in love with it! And at all of $5, how could I resist?
I set it on a chippy old column base to add a little height, and it has a new home on a small bench in the back area of my living room.
On the bottom shelf of the bench I placed my other 'new' treasure, this old metal tool chest.
This thing is big and HEAVY! (I struggled carrying it to my car!)
Again, it's shabby, and full of the rusty, crusty goodness that I love!
I had this spot in mind for it, and was happy that it fit perfectly!
So in this case, one man's junk is MY treasure! :)
I still have my little barnwood cabinet hanging above the bench, filled with white goodies.
So here's the complete new vignette...
All thanks to some 'good junk'!
I appreciate you stopping by!
Have a wonderful day! :)
an unlikely pairing - but you made it work! :) lovely.
ReplyDeleteI love the little garden statue! I have a few outside that I keep thinking I'll bring in for the winter. No one sees them under 3 feet of snow! Yours is so romantic! :)
ReplyDeletelove and blessings~
Love your finds...$5 for that wonderful statue!!
ReplyDeleteFlea market goal!!
ReplyDeleteYou scored BIG time! I can't believe you only paid $5 for that statue! I have one that is super heavy too in my half bath that I recently moved to a new location. I bought mine at an antique store many years ago. It's one of the few things that I have never tired of. I love yours and the chippy tool chest you found. It looks perfect on that shelf.
ReplyDeleteSusan,

Hi Susan, that statue is exactly what would move me with such emotion I too would have to bring it home with me, yes a place in my home it would stay, I have not found one that moves me enough or looks as crumbled as yours, it's absoulutly breathtaking. The tool box? Yes! I have one and love it as well. Your vignette is soulfully well placed, I wish that statue were my find, I think it might end up on the coffee table trunk so I could stair at it everyday.
ReplyDeleteWonderful post and a great imspiring visit, I am going to hit the flea market this weekend...I am working on a fabulous armoire, it's plain but will speak my French language when it's done.
Xoxo
