My Cat, My Shop, and Etsy
Happy September, everyone!
I'm sorry that I haven't been around much to visit you all...it was a very trying week.
Our sweet cat Bob ingested something toxic and we had to rush her to the ER vet on Labor Day. Of course things like this always happen when the regular vet isn't open!
She ended up having to be hospitalized for 3 days and 2 nights, and had to go through some pretty traumatic things, poor sweetie. I was a wreck, but thank God she is now home and seems to be doing good.
It was emotionally exhausting for both Keith and me (and we're a whole lot poorer now, too!) but hopefully the worst is behind us.
What we do for our babies!
My mom and I did have a wonderful, busy weekend at the shop, though! I haven't showed any shop pictures for awhile so I thought that I'd share a few today.
Enjoy!
I've also just listed some fun vintage goodies on Etsy!
Like this sweet wire basket...
...and this pretty blue and white tureen...
...and this cool old locker basket...
To see more treasures in our Etsy shop go here...you might find something that you can't live without! :)
I also want to announce the winners of my giveaway for the digital Inspiration Vintage Magazine!
They are:
Vera from Row Homes and Cobblestones
Melissa from Melissa's Antiques
and from Norway,
Marit from Brukt og Blandet (Used and Mixed)
Congrats to them!
Well, I can't believe it's that time of year again, but I'm off to my annual shopping excursion with my friend Suzanne to the Country Living Fair this week!
Hopefully I'll have lots of fun finds to show you from my trip!
Have a wonderful day! :)

I'm so glad to hear that your cat is all better now. She's lying on that chair like she doesn't have a care in the world now! LOL. I know how expensive it is for an emergency visit to the vet on a holiday. I had to do that once on New Years Day for my dog. $$$$$ later, we were thankful for our dog to be well. Love seeing your shop again. You're getting ready to be busy with the holiday season coming up!
ReplyDeleteSo glad that Bob is better. Our fur babies are family, too. Your shop is amazing! no wonder you were so busy over the weekend! So many things I see that would come home with me.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking of you today...so glad you stopped over for a visit!!!
Enjoy the show.

I'm so glad Bob is ok!! What on earth do these little critters get into? Our dog years ago ingested something very toxic and we never knew what it was. It's so terrifying when they are sick.
ReplyDeleteYour shop looks like a wonderful spot to shop with a girlfriend. :)
Oh my gosh Susan! Your poor baby! Glad she's feeling better. I always love seeing pictures of your shop. Everything is beautiful. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteOh Susan, so sorry about your sweet Kitty. I so hope she is feeling better soon. They are family too and we worry so about them, don't we? Love your shop pics. You have some wonderful pieces. Looks like your etsy is stocked with treasures too.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
Hugs

Poor, sweet Bob! Glad she is much better and back home where she can be cared and loved by you! It's so scary when the furbaby is sick.

Blessings, Cindy Hope your mom is doing well!
ReplyDeleteoh, no! Poor Bob! I hope you were able to figure out what he ate! I remember my male cat having a urinary tract infection...on the weekend, of course, just after our vet had closed! 25 miles to the ER vet, but I was glad to make sure he'd be okay. Let's see what you get at CL fair!
ReplyDeleteSo glad your kitty is ok! How scary! Your shop space looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThose are great pictures of your shop. Everything looks lovely. I am so happy to hear that your kitty survived and is going to be okay. It is so hard to see our pets sick and not be able to help them ourselves. Glad you got a good emergency vet. xo Diana

Oh Susan, I'm so very sorry that you had to worry so much about Bob. I know how terrible you and Keith must have felt. Poor Bob, that she had to undergo such traumaticl treatments. We would gladly take over the pain for our furry babies, wouldn't we? I'm so glad that Bob is better now and hope that she will fully recover soon, my friend.
ReplyDeleteYour shop is a dream! It's wonderful to hear that your Mom feels well enough to work.
Sending hugs and love to you, your Mom and to Bob,
Julia
Susan, I'm so happy your little Bob is doing better...my Skittles was in the hospital about 8 weeks ago...for 2 days. Yes, very expensive......they are worth it. Your shop is so gorgeous.......Love it! I know I would find something to bring home...I just need to get there!! Have a wonderful time at the Country Living Show~~~Blessings~~~Roxie
ReplyDeleteOh no your poor kitty...I know what that's like having a dog we worry about them so much!! Glad he's doing better:-) Your shop look fabulous...so many pretty things! Have a great week Susan!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad your cat survived that horrible ordeal, Susan!! Your shop is filled with wonderful goodies, too. Your mother must be feeling good to be in the shop with you, and I'll bet it's the best medicine for her, too!
ReplyDeleteHave a great trip to the CL Fair!

oh, i hope bob's on the road to good health, susan. your shop looks heavenly and i'll bet is great therapy for your mom:) have a great week!
ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear Bob is ok. When that happened to us with one of the pups it so scary to go through. Everything is really looking good, love the tureen.
ReplyDeleteCindy
Oh, your poor baby! So glad the trauma of the treatment is over and, hopefully with a great weekend at the shop and those fabulous additions to your Etsy shop (great prices too!), the trauma of your pocketbook will be a little less. I know it's crazy expensive to have any kind of animal surgery - esp on the holiday. I know because my daughter's dog had emergency surgery on Memorial weekend. Ouch.
ReplyDeleteSusan,
ReplyDeleteI first want to say how excited I am to have won the digital issue ;-) Thank you so very much. While enjoying a visit to NYC I won, WOW how cool is that!
Second Susan I am so sorry about sweet Bob and all she had to go through. I have complete empathy for your and Keith's emotional stress over Bob. John and I too had a real scare with Max when he was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and put on a prescription that he had such a severe allergic reaction to he almost died the same time my Dad was in his last days of hospice. We now have Max taking a holistic drop remedy and thankfully it is working successfully.
I looked at the photos of your sweet little girl laying on the chair and felt your pain. For the love and heart connections formed with our fur kids are as deep a love as one can feel. Away for days in a hospital was traumatic for Bob and as well for you and Keith, please keep us posted on Bob's recovery and new adventures as she continues enriching your lives.
Your stores wonderful vintage merchandise and displays are always well thought out in design. You truly have a unique talent for knowing how to stage and delighting the eye.
Susan thanks again for the issue I will enjoy looking at hopefully this evening.
XO,
Vera
So glad Bob will be OK....and yes, I can imagine the Vet bill...my son goes through those big vet bills and I am amazed....but you do what you gotta do for your "babies"...they are a valued member of the family....Love seeing your beautiful shop...glad you had a great weekend...and congrats to the winners!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! And I love the nesting tables...wish you were closer! Sorry about your kitty trauma, and glad it worked out.
ReplyDeleteI'm visiting my niece in Goshen, Ohio this week...are you near that? We're Ashley headed to the Country Living Fair on Friday. Maybe we could hook up?
ReplyDeleteI love the patina on those stacking tables, so pretty! You have so many wonderful things in your shop, love it all!
ReplyDeleteGlad your kitty is ok and enjoying her cat naps. Your shop looks lovely and has some really nice treasures. I love your little white pumpkins. Funny how this morning I was just thinking about making some white pumpkins out of material and I just randomly went into your blog and saw your post!...amazing!
ReplyDeleteYour shop looks great! Wish I was close enough to visit it in person. Glad you little cat is on the mend.
