Hi, friends!
Yes, I know it's been quite awhile since I last posted!
Things have been good, and I've been enjoying my summer (although it's flying by too fast!)
I hope that you've been enjoying yours, too.
I thought I'd pop in and show you one of my new favorite finds.
I love old bread boards and have a few, but this shape was new to me.
At the shop where I got it, it was marked 'Tombstone Bread Board' on the tag...did you know that's what this shape is called?
I guess it makes sense, although it's kind of morbid-ha!
But regardless, I love the shape and the price was VERY reasonable, so it came home with me!
I decided to use it as a 'tray' on my dining room table.
I placed it on top of a 'new' vintage grain sack that I recently got, then topped it with a sweet little cherub statue...
...and a faux plant covered with a large glass cloche that I've had in storage...
I think it gives a bit of a 'farmhouse garden vibe' to my dining room table!
I've made a couple of other small tweaks to my dining room, too.
Like in this corner I changed a few things...
...and I went to all white chairs (although still mismatched) around the table, where before I had some black chairs mixed in...
But other areas are surprisingly untouched by my frequent decor changes!
Just some subtle changes to show you...
I hope that you enjoyed!
Until next time (I'll try not to stay away so long!) have a blessed day! :)
What a wonderful surprise to see your blog pop up with a new post!! I miss you, but also understand the need to take a break. Love your breadboard...unusual shape. Your dining room looks fresh and bright with your white chairs.

Hello my friend,
ReplyDeleteSo happy you did a post and what a good one it is. Love the white chairs in the dining room all mismatched and pretty. Looks great. Love the chippy piece in the corner of the dining room too. That is pretty awesome. I always love the way the light filters into your dining room. So pretty.
Have a great week.

It is so good to know you are well, I miss your posts and visits so! Love the bread board, so different, perfect as a large tray! All of my dining room furniture is oak, I want to paint it but haven't been able to talk myself into it yet, maybe some day, Love your white chairs!! May you be blessed and continue to enjoy your summer! Cindy xoxo

Susan,
ReplyDeleteI get needing a blogging break!!! It was a delightful surprise to see you pop up with a post. Your dining room green is serene and refreshing... The tombstone breadboard is a shape I do not own. Breadboards although I've never shared this on a post make the most rustic and cool placemat/charger/textural layer you can ever use. A break is coming up soon for me, so much work, updates and changes in this old Philly Row-home I'm exhausted and needing to relax with John in a staycation. I really truly get your long break but just be aware you were truly missed.
xoxo,
Vera
So nice to see a post of yours pop up. I had to come over to see the connection between a tombstone and a bread board. Lovely vignette on the table. My favorite remains the pitchers in the window, but the pale frames grouped together is coming on strong!
ReplyDeleteHi Susan...was so happy to see your post. I love that your chairs are all white. I'm getting ready to paint our dining room chairs white and the table legs...but will keep the top of the table wood. Love your tombstone breadboard...I collect breadboards, but have not seen one like yours. It looks great on your table.

Everything is lovely. I especially like your french coffee cup rack with the tiny olive tree in the pot. Or is it an herb? Either way it gives the french country feel.
