Freshening Up the Powder Room
(Thank you to Lavender Garden Cottage and Rooted in Thyme for featuring this post!)
Good morning! Hope you're all having a great weekend!
Who says a small space can't be cute? Our first floor bathroom is very tiny, so I have limited space to work with-of course that doesn't stop me from decorating every nook and cranny! This half bath has looked like this in the past. Here are a few spring touches that I've added recently...
I kept this old metal cart here-it fits the space well, and gives it some personality.
I changed out the top and the shelves to a little more rustic look.
The top the the commode has to be 'pretty', too!
A barn wood chalkboard that I found works perfectly in this small narrow space.
I tore some pictures out of an old butterfly book to pin to the chicken wire board. (Better than pinning the real thing, in my opinion!)
I ordered this basket online, and it holds tons of t.p. (You gotta have a cute container to hold essentials! :) The size and shape are perfect for this space.
I got this old mirror at the flea market. I love its lines and detailing.
Well, that's the grand tour of our tiny powder room! Have a wonderful day! :)
I'm linking to these great parties: i should be mopping the floor

I love your vintage touches in your powder room.
ReplyDeleteCute bathroom! I love the chicken wire paired with the old window. I have an old window waiting for a redo, so thanks for the inspiration! Jean
ReplyDeleteVery pretty touches, Susan! I love that metal stand ~ it looks like such a versatile piece that you can decorate with lots of things. Love your toilet paper basket, too. I have a small one I found at the Vintage Marketplace last year that {after some paint} I use to hold our toilet paper.
ReplyDeleteLove the TP basket, Susan, and your powder room is so sweet! :-) Sue
ReplyDeleteSo many pretty things! I love the lavender in the room! I have my tp in a metal/wire type basket too. I love the way it looks! I really like the butterflies pinned to the chicken wire frame too!
ReplyDeleteThat looks great. I love the little metal stand with all the goodies on it. You are right, it adds personality and is usable at the same time. I also adore that little clock!
ReplyDeleteLovely space. I have been bringing home lots of treasures from my parents place. Some being an old fan, dear horns, old brushes and bottles, old shoe shine kit, old wire bird cage. Cant wait to play with it all today. Enjoy your day..
ReplyDeleteYou have some very cute and charming touches in your powder room, I love it all! I think you have more room than you think! I love the wire basket for the TP and the old metal cabinet (I thought it was wood) and the chicken wire frame with the butterflies is darling! Great job! :)
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
I LOVE the powder room! I have a special fondness for old mirrors, and yours is crazy cute! It would have come home with me too!
ReplyDeleteI love all your touches as usual, Susan. Gorgeous mirror!! But I think I have you beat on small powder rooms. There is no way I could get that metal cart, which I LOVE, in my powder room. There's hardly room to shut the door once you step inside mine!

I can't decide if the metal cart or that fabulous mirror is my favorite. Actually I just love the whole vignette!
ReplyDeleteI just adore that little clock on the top of the tray. Also, I really like the basket holding the toilet paper. What a whimsical idea!

Looks great! At one time, my kitchen, dining area and a few other spots in the house was decorated country/primitive/rustic. Went on a binge one day and decided to change things up. A lot of things I got rid of, I regret now.
ReplyDeleteHope you have enjoyed the weekend.
I just love the whole room and everything in it. It looks fabulous. I think the mirror is my favorite, but I love the T.P and the cart & its things too. Mary

everything is so perfect!! and on a positive note, you will never have to worry about not noticing that your tp supply is getting low :)
ReplyDeleteI love the touches you added to your bathroom.
ReplyDeleteLoving your Sweet little Cart... and the Vignette. You've made a Small Space look so Charming and Fresh. Gotta get me one of those tp Baskets! *Winks* Thanks for Sharing the Inspiration... living in a 100 year old Homestead house that used to be out in the wilderness of the Desert when it was first built... and didn't have plumbing 'til much later... our Powder Rooms were built later where ever they could fit them in... and so are cubby sized and difficult to add personality to {or move around in... LOL}.
