Hi, everyone! Most of my fall decor is in the neutral color palette; however, I decided to bring in the more traditional rustic colors of fall into our office since there are some darker tones in here including our leather chair.
My mom bought these mums for me-they're the prettiest color, kind of a rust/cinnamon/burgundy! She also found this little wreath which she meant for the shop but which I promptly brought home. For some reason, I just love it! And it's about the same shade as the mums.
(I also snagged the little copper-tinged silver urn that she had bought for the shop! I've never seen this shape or size-love it! Hazards of the job! ;)
The mums, the wreath, and these sweet little pears that I found echo the rust colored stripe in this small vintage suitcase, so I started with that as my foundation.
I began working on my vignette...then went into another room to gather some things...and within minutes this is what I came back to...
Look closer...
What?? Yes, that's Bob! She decided that this was a perfect place for her nap! Keith and I always crack up when she does this. She'll wedge herself into the smallest spaces!
A little bit later I came back and she had changed positions...
I was snapping away, but she was oblivious to the paparazzi!
Nothing is gonna interfere with her nap!
And then I got 'the look'..."are you seriously taking pictures of me again?!"
Sorry, I couldn't help myself! :)
Ok, so once she finally decided to leave the suitcase and I resumed my decorating, this is how the end result turned out...
The mums, the wreath, the little pears in the urn, along with a little bundle of Indian corn, and a couple of bigger pears (one on an old spring) all in a vintage suitcase.
(Sorry, Bob, you lost your new napping spot!)
It's really hard to get good pictures in here because there's not much natural light, plus it's been rainy.
But hopefully you'll enjoy my little fall vignette (and my kitty) anyway!

I love these non-typical Fall colors - and what a neat idea to gather it all in a vintage suitcase! Your kitty reminds me of mine - if you put a box, basket or bowl on a flat surface anywhere in the house, he sniffs it out within seconds and claims it as his own.

ReplyDeleteLOL, when I first looked I thought, oh dear, is that an old fur she has in the case!! Who are you calling an old fur? asks Bob. Much as I like Bob in there, I think the finished display is perfect. I love the subtle colours.
