Country Living Fair 2015

Hi, everyone!

I know, it's been awhile since I've posted!  Since I just got back from the Country Living Fair in Columbus, I figured it would be a perfect time to check in, and show you some eye candy!

In case you're new to my blog, or just to refresh your memory, every year I travel to Columbus (about 2 hours from my home) and spend 2 days with my lifelong (well, almost-43 years) friend Suzanne on what we call our 'Shopping Extravaganza'!

We hit tons of shops on the first day (and I'm talking morning to night shopping!) then I spend the night at her house, and the next day we spend all day at the Country Living Fair.

Here is the line at approximately 7:30 in the morning.  It wraps all the way around to where we were standing.  And we're all the die-hards, who bought 'early bird' passes!
As you can see, it was a gorgeous day!

Here we are, eager to get in and start shopping!!
(I'm the blonde, in case you don't know :)

This event is truly an inspiration, and a feast for the eyes! The creativity and beauty that these vendors from all over the country create is awe-inspiring!

So let's get to the good stuff!

One of our very favorite booths every year...

Another one of my favorite booths...SO gorgeous!!

This beauty was sold by the time I got to her...she was about 3 feet tall with perfect patina!

So sweet...

This vendor's display was just stunning!

I can never get enough of white pumpkins-love them!

This clock was amazing!

I adored this huge cubby!

And this old green one was super cool, too!

LOVE this huge chicken nester...wish I had a spot for it!

This cow head was HUGE, and so fun!!

I love these pretty rosemary plants gathered in a vintage basket!

Another jaw-dropping display!

Such vibrant, colorful pumpkins!

This little girl was so adorable standing on the back of this old pickup that I had to capture it! :)

Well, I could've taken a million more photos, but I was too busy drooling (and also buying a few goodies!)

I hope that you enjoyed this glimpse of the Country Living Fair...til next time, have a wonderful day!  :)

One Man's Junk...

Hi, everyone!

I hope that you're having a great week!

I recently got 2 'new' treasures at the flea market and wanted to share them with you.

The first thing is this sweet concrete garden statue.

It's rough and shabby, but I fell in love with it!  And at all of $5, how could I resist?

I set it on a chippy old column base to add a little height, and it has a new home on a small bench in the back area of my living room.

On the bottom shelf of the bench I placed my other 'new' treasure, this old metal tool chest.

This thing is big and HEAVY!  (I struggled carrying it to my car!)

Again, it's shabby, and full of the rusty, crusty goodness that I love!

I had this spot in mind for it, and was happy that it fit perfectly!

So in this case, one man's junk is MY treasure! :)

I still have my little barnwood cabinet hanging above the bench, filled with white goodies.

So here's the complete new vignette...

All thanks to some 'good junk'!

I appreciate you stopping by!

Have a wonderful day!  :)

A Renewed Patch of Backyard

Hi, everyone!

We have a little patio in our backyard-a patch really-that we don't use, and I've never done anything with it.

I decided I wanted it to look pretty, since our sunporch overlooks it, so I set about finding an inexpensive way to jazz it up!

I found this little iron table and the 2 chairs at 2 different shops, but thought their chippy white and rusty finishes matched up nicely!  The whole set only cost me $35!

The sweet little garden angel came from the flea market, and she has a new home on the table.

Keith and I went to a sale years ago at the home of a popular Country Living magazine contributor. We got this huge (and heavy!) old shabby birdhouse from him, and I've never really had a good spot for it.

I added it beside the seating area, and I love the visual punch it gives!

I've had the concrete urn out here for awhile, so I added a pretty fern to make it complete.

The little red birdhouse was a gift from Keith a couple months ago, and he attached it to the tree for me.

The whole area has kind of a shabby, overgrown look, but of course that's just my style! :)

And now I enjoy the view instead of looking at a barren patch of patio!

Thanks so much for stopping by...

...and have a fantastic day!
