Merry Christmas To Me!

Good morning, everyone!  I hope that you had a great Christmas!
I haven't been around much because Keith and I got hit with a nasty bug, and I've been trying to rest and recover from it.

I managed to snap a few pics of a Christmas gift that I bought myself.

My mom and I went to an antique mall a couple of days before Christmas.

When I spotted this statue tucked  behind some things on the floor of a booth, my heart started beating faster!

I was taken with her beauty.

I have quite a growing collection of smaller white Madonnas, but this is the first large one that I've come across.

It's hard to tell from these pics, but she's pretty big (over 2 feet tall!) and unbelievably heavy!!

My mom and I had to laugh that she is blue...after avoiding blue all these years, now it seems that all my 'must-haves' lately are blue!
(As I showed you in my last post, here.)

I also bought this bluish-gray cabinet that same day, but I'm not sure if I'm keeping it or if it's going to my shop.  (I've started taking down my Christmas decor, and I'm changing a lot of things around.)
It's a great color and has a zinc top, which I love.

So...Merry Christmas to me! :)

I wish you all a happy, blessed New Year!

Merry Christmas To All

I mentioned before that I don't really do much outdoor Christmas decorating, but I did manage to give our little back stoop a touch of Christmas love.

A couple of months ago, one of my favorite 'vintage' stores was closing, and I spied this chippy blue sled...

...and this to-die-for barn door...

...and of course they both had to come home with me!  (At fabulous prices, to boot!)

This old, shabby tricycle was given to me by my nephew's dad.

He knows that I love anything worn and chippy, and this sure fits the bill!  Perfectly rusty, and look at those layers of paint! (sigh)

I thought the barn door needed a wreath, so I hung one that I've had.

I wanted to pair up the sled and the trike (kind of ironic that they're both 'blue', the color that I previously shunned, don't ya think?) and this turned out to be the perfect spot!

I just want to take this moment to thank all of you, my dear readers and fellow bloggers who keep coming back to my little blog, who uplift me with your kind comments, and who inspire me all throughout the year.

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas, and a wonderful New Year full of blessings!!  :)

Random Holiday Cheer

Hi there!  I've pretty much shown you all of my decorated rooms.  There's just a few vignettes/areas here and there that you haven't seen so I thought I'd piece them together and show you.  Enjoy!

My friend Carol made this stocking...isn't it amazing?

I bought this gate from the flea market many years ago, and it hasn't lost its charm!

I just found this picture at TJ Maxx and fell in love with it!

This is a Christmas card sent to me years ago...I loved it (it's hard to tell but it's very glittery) so I framed it.

This 'JOY' garland was adorning the Christmas package that my sweet friend Kris (Junk Chic Cottage) sent me!  Isn't this beautifully wrapped?

I love it!  I strung it across an old sifter.

Kris knows that I love the number 3 so she sent me a fun tote with no 3 on it, and she also knows that I adore cats, so she sent me this gorgeous book.  She gives the best, most thoughtful gifts!
Someone else appreciated it, too!  (While I was unwrapping this, Bob crawled into the box and promptly went to sleep right beside the book! I didn't even stage this :)

I shamelessly copied this idea of baskets with numbers from Patina White!  LOVE that girl's style!
(My mom surprised us with this fantastic, huge coat rack a couple of years ago.  She was told it's from an old library.)

Here is a view from the office looking out into our front hall, sans Christmas decorations.

I recently purchased this pillow at a friend's shop.  It's so unusual, and Santa's sweet face just begged to come home with me!

Well, there you have it...some random bits of holiday cheer!  Christmas is right around the corner!  Are you ready?

Have a wonderful day :)

Ho Ho Holiday Office

Hello, everyone!  Can you believe that Christmas is just over a week away?

Our office got just a small touch of holiday love, but I thought I'd show you.

This room has book shelves lining two walls, but I didn't want to get too complicated in trying to decorate them for Christmas.
I have a little dresser on one wall that I use to store my ridiculous extensive stash of decor mags, so this is the space that I concentrated on.

I found this 'board on wheels/cart/not sure what it is' thing at the flea market and just thought it was cool!

I used it as a 'base' for a few holiday items.

I collected some goodies including a tiny Christmas tree, a vintage clock and a Madonna together under a rusty wire cloche, and hung a sparkly ornament on it.

My mom found this sweet little pot of greenery and pinecones for me, and I've had the candelabra.

I got this burlap tree in a bucket a few years ago from my friend Lori's shop and I still just love it!

I also got the painted door from Lori.  I've had it leaned up against the dresser for awhile-I like the height and texture and just think it works well here.

Before I just had a leather chair in here...

......but I decided to bring in an arm chair from the sunroom and put it on the other side of the dresser...

. ..and I like the new little seating area!

On the 'new' chair is an adorable Christmas pillow made by my friend Carol.

So there you have it!  Hope you enjoyed the little touches of Christmas in my office!

Have a fantastic day!
