Hi, everyone! This is what's going on in our neck of the woods today...a winter wonderland!
Wouldn't our house look festive with wreaths on every window? Yah, that's not gonna happen-ha! I LOVE that look, and every year I say we're gonna do it, but then after I spend so much time decorating the inside, the outside just doesn't get much holiday love. (Although I did just score the porch trees at a thrift store!!)
So in my last post here, I showed you a couple of vignettes in my front hall/living room.
I'm continuing on in the living room. I didn't do a lot, just a few small touches.
I'll start by showing you the little drawer unit beside our couch.
I thought these rusty bells were so cute-they were a great score from a thrift shop, too!
I found the little rusty basket recently and thought it would be a perfect match with the bells!
I've had the skinny twig tree for a couple of years, and it's still one of my favorites!
I fell in love with this little wheelbarrow at an antique store a few months ago!
I knew I'd want to use it for Christmas on our factory cart coffee table.
I filled it with a little greenery and some large pinecones...
...and used a grain sack underneath it as a 'runner.'
I love the touch of whimsy that it gives!
My barn wood shelves in the corner got 'dressed up' with some simple greenery in a tool box...
...and I placed a tree in my olive bucket. I know it's nothing original, but I still love the look of it!
I used a grain sack to cover the bottom, then blinged the tree up a little with some clip-on burlap flowers...
....and a pair of feather angel wings that I just found at a second hand shop-gotta love those bargains!
I just realized I don't think I've ever shown you my vintage grocery cart in the back by the window! I found it at a little shop I was visiting over the summer, and had to have it!!
I've piled grain sacks in the top basket and added some antlers. (I'll show you more pics of it another time :)
You've probably already seen my mantel, which is across from the coffee table. You can see more of it here.
So, as you can see I've kept the Christmas decor in the living room pretty simple!
I hope that you enjoyed this little tour...have a wonderful weekend!
I'm sharing this at these wonderful blogs: Coastal Charm
You got the snow and we got the rain, Susan! I'm hoping it doesn't turn back to snow. I am just hoping it disappears with the rain. Love that little wheelbarrow. That will be great for vignettes throughout the year.
ReplyDeleteWe have winter wonderland here too! But looks like you are all ready for Christmas:) You could probably buy some wreaths on after the holiday sales for next year :)
ReplyDeleteLove your vintage rustic look. And need not worry about decorating outdoors, nature provided it for you for FREE (the snow is beautiful!). I have the same problem, I get busy decorating indoors that I don't do much outdoors. Love your little wheelbarrow too. Such a cute cozy home! Merry Christmas!

Well, you might call it simple but I call it simply beautiful! Everything looks gorgeous and your trees on the front porch look perfect. I think the wreaths on the windows would look great though-gotta say! Your little tree is cute and so is that wagon. LOVE it- perfect touch for the old cart/table. Hope you have a wonderful night- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteLove the bells and the feather tree!!!
ReplyDeleteI adore that little wheelbarrow. Very unique for Christmas and just perfect!
ReplyDeleteSnowing here now! Your living room does look jolly!
ReplyDeleteI just love the little wheelbarrow with the huge pinecones! I love the map too!
ReplyDeleteWe always have a hard time getting the outdoors decorated too especially once it gets really cold. Your living room has just enough Christmas touches. Love your wonderful finds like the bells and the little wheelbarrow - too cute!
ReplyDeleteYour house looks so pretty in the snow! I wish we were getting some pretty snow right now instead of the ugly rain. Your house WOULD look good if you put wreaths on all the windows with big red bows! I like the wheelbarrow you found for your coffee table. It looks so cute with the greenery and pinecones.
ReplyDeleteYes, I did enjoy the tour! I love all the natural elements. Merry Christmas! ~Ann

Seriously Susan you just amaze me time and time again with all your beauty. Never saw the outside and its beautiful. I love the map. I have one similar that I got from the parents and am inspired to put it up now. I shopped today and found another shabby gate, scale, rusty coffee tin. I cant wait to share. I ended my day with a trip to a local Vintage Roost little house sale. I am pretty sure I will blog that next. Blessings Pam

Your living room looks warm and inviting with your vintage furniture and natural Christmas decor, Susan. I love the little wheelbarrow! Your thrift store trees are the perfect holiday welcome at your front door. I only got one wreath up before the below zero weather hit, so I made do with candles in the windows.
