Now This Is Living! (Room)

This is the room we spend the most time in (next to the sun room)...the "Living Room"...let me break it down for you:  this is the view from our front hallway.
We use an old factory cart for our coffee table-it's a true, old rough one; my hubby surprised me and stenciled "Dept No 3" on the side when I was out of town, because that's my favorite number!  He also wrote 'Est 1967' which is both of our birth years-so special!  I really couldn't believe he went and did that! (I absolutely can't picture him going into Jo-Ann's and buying stencils and a paint pen :)   We got the old roll-down school map at an auction when we lived in Columbus, for a steal!  The postal cart is one of my fav items-I splurged and got it on Etsy.
This is kind of a 'continuation' of the front hallway, behind the living room loveseat-this is what I showed in my first post.  (And I found 2 crates/boxes that are more unison in shape and size to replace the bottom drawers!) My hubby also surprised me with the 3 connected 'stadium seats'-he's a keeper!
The corner of the room next to the couch has a barn wood bookcase that I'm always changing around.  Currently it's filled with industrial metal pieces that I'm really into right now-I can't get enough of old metal or wire goodies!
The little chest of drawers beside the couch is perfect to hide our remotes, coasters, etc.  I love the coffee sack on the ladder because my mom brought it back for me when my parents went to Hawaii last summer. (They toured a coffee plant that wasn't even selling them, but my mom knowing I'd LOVE a burlap sack asked for one and worked her magic...!) Ok...enough pics for now!  I'll continue the living room tour next time.  Enjoy your weekend!

  19. lovely! We do like a ton of the same stuff! I could happily use all of the stuff you have in your living room :) And the dress form in your header? I NEED one of those SO bad! I keep hoping I will find one in my price range someday. I would actually use it for my bridal sewing projects - the smooth form would be wonderful for that. and it would look good in house too! Someday I will find one that I don't have to sell the house to afford!

  21. I have that exact same little hexagon top table that you have by the front door!! I got it about a month ago from a thrift store. It was outside and as I drove by it caught my eye. I told myself I would take it home if it were $30 or less. Lucky me it was $28. I think it is so amazing to see some of the older things I have in my own home in other people's homes online. You have good taste my friend.
