Farmhouse Table Centerpiece

(Thanks to Confessions of a Plate AddictSunday View, The Style SistersLavender Garden Cottage and Have a Daily Cup of Mrs.Olsen for featuring this post!)
Hi, everyone!  Hope you had a good weekend!
I've been tweaking my dining room, trying to freshen up the space.  I already showed you in this post what I did with my tiny cow head and some frames.  I changed up a couple of other things in this vignette, too-added a topiary tree and a madonna, and hung the shutter and wreath.

I decided to give the dining room table a new look.  I started with a piece of a grain sack as a 'runner' then used an old whiskey barrel top as a base...

I placed a stack of ironstone bowls on a vintage dish towel...

...then I rested a bowl of faux brown eggs on top of a 'crusty' old scale that I just got at the flea market. I found this tiny no. 3 canister at Anthropologie a few years ago.

I then placed some spoons in a small pitcher that I 'stole' from my shop, and added a little bundle of dried lavender...

...and there you have it-a new and improved centerpiece on my dining room table!

I used my tried and true motto 'Simple is Best.'

I'm liking the 'farmhouse vibe' that it gives to this room.

I'll show you more of my dining room 'tweaks' next time.  (There's a hint on the buffet!)
Thanks for stopping by and have a fantastic day! :)

  8. I am loving the scale with the bowl of eggs. Nothing says retro farmhouse like a bowl fresh eggs. We can just pretend that there are chickens in the fence out back. Or maybe they're free range. Your table is beautiful and I love the mix of chairs.I am now following by GFC and I am subscribing through email. It takes it several hours for a post to get to me by email but that way I won't miss you.
    Have a great week, Ginger

  16. Love the centerpiece.

Our table is small and used for all meals so my husband has a fit if he has to move anything much. If we had a separate dining room table, it would always have a special table setting.
