(Thank you to Green Willow Pond for featuring this post!)
Hi, everyone! I was so excited about my newest 'score' that I had to share!
My mom and I were recently at a garage sale when I spied this wooden tote sitting across the yard on the ground. Old? Check. Rustic? Check. Tons of character? Check. Great price? Check. SOLD!
Love that both ends are stamped with letters and there's some handwritten numbers on the one side.
I gathered together some of my favorite things. I started with a nest, a couple of grain sacks, and an antler...
...then added a bunch of 'crusty' flower pots...
...and a basket of some dried lavender from my last trip to Arizona, which you can read about here...
And voila!
A new vignette on our factory cart coffee table.
I'm happy with the new look...
...and it looks like I'm not the only one who's enjoying it! :)
Thanks so much for stopping by-have a wonderful day!

Thanks, Mary Alice! Our floors were covered with carpet when we moved in...we had them refinished a few years ago and I'm glad that we did! :)

ReplyDeleteWow I love it and also the cute kitty!!So how do you clean your wood floors???
ReplyDeleteThanks, Elma! We clean our floors...very infrequently! Ha! No really...when we do clean them we use Hoover Floor Mate. My dad worked for the Hoover Company for over 40 years, so I'd be in trouble if I used anything else! ;)
DeleteI was thinking as I read that our cat would love to sleep in the tote. Love the way you styled it - the pots bring out the color in the cart.
ReplyDeleteOooooo, I'm loving that tote. Nice score.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving it too! I just love what you used to fill it up....kitty too.
ReplyDeleteYou find the greatest things Susan...i love it..and yes, it is big, but then again, you have so many wonderful treasures to fill it beautifully!!!...Glad the kitty loves it too!
ReplyDeleteLove your great new kitty daybed!

Looks perfect on that on that factory cart coffee table ... meant to be together. Displayed very nicely ... and your beautiful cat approves. Totes/tool boxes that are not deep show off the display items so much better.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.

ReplyDeleteThat is so adorable with your cat inside the box!
ReplyDeleteJulie
So cute but classy! Glad you stopped by, I am a junk lover too, borderline hoarder, lol. I at least hide it in my craft room till it can be used :)
ReplyDeleteI am now following you too :)
I was about to say...the only thing that could make it better would be a cat, and then bam, there is the cat :) looks like a perfect spot. I call my youngest child cat man, as he loves to sit in boxes, drawers, crates and such...so he would totally sit in your new find as well.
ReplyDeleteThat's hilarious! And so sweet...
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous centerpiece this makes! Just think of all the possibilities other seasons will bring? Sneaky cat - how cute! Great find! Hugs, Leena

Love the tote! Love how you decorated it! But I think your sleepy kitty has decided on another use for it. Precious! Stop by my Friday's Five Features and link up this post (and others)! http://diy-vintage-chic.blogspot.com/2013/08/fridays-five-features-no-4.html
ReplyDeleteI saw one of those when I was at the Hartville Flea Market a few weeks ago and the guy told me it was a berry carrier??? Like you'd put those little square berry baskets in it. Not sure whether to believe him or not, but yours is very cute. The numbering just adds to its charm!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lucky find, and just the perfect size for you awesome coffee table! Love the lavender tucked in with all your other goodies. Kitty looks very comfy. My cat does the same thing. If I do something new, he thinks he has to lay claim to it! Thank you for sharing it at What We Accomplished Wednesdays. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteit looks just perfect. You have it filled so nicely.
ReplyDeleteFabulous rustic antique tote! I love how you styled it too. So much interest and texture. Your kitties are pretty. I've never seen a cat like your first one with the long hair all around the face.
