The Blog Tour Continues...

Today I'm happy to be part of a blog tour that's been making its way through blogland!

Betsy from My Salvaged Treasures invited me to participate, and being a big fan of hers, of course I said yes!  I've been following Betsy's blog for a long time, and we're kindred spirits as she shares my love of hunting for good junk!

 I am always awed and inspired by her endless creativity.  (I've even ordered some of her fantastic jewelry!)

She is seriously one of the most talented artists that I've ever 'met'!  She can take the most ordinary, forlorn piece of junk...

...and have the vision and talent to turn it into something extra special!

And I appreciate that she has always been so supportive, and such a sweet blogging friend!
Thanks, Betsy :)

So, now I'm gonna get right to it...

The 4 questions that I've been asked to answer are:

1. What are you working on right now?

I don't have any major projects going, but I'm always tweaking or rearranging a room, and right now it happens to be our sunroom.  This is a space that my hubby, 2 cats, and I spend a LOT of time in through most of 3 seasons...

During these summer month, I've been drawn to adding more soft blues and greens to our home, and that's apparent in the sunroom...

Just before that I was working on our master bedroom...

Who knows what room it will be next?  :)

2. How does my work differ from others of its genre?

Maybe what makes my blog a little different is that my posts are strictly focused on decor (with the occasional post about my 2 kitties...

                                                                         {Bo}

                                                                          {Bob}

...or my shop thrown in...)

                                                               {Home Sweet Home}

You won't find any cooking or gardening tips here (unless you want to burn a meal or kill a plant-lol! :)

But that's ok with me...I just try to keep it real and write about what I'm passionate about, which is decorating with 'good junk'!

3. Why do I write/create what I do?

I began blogging as a way to share my excitement about bargain hunting for vintage goods, and decorating my home in an eclectic style.

Like I said before, it's something that I'm so passionate about, and I can't keep it to myself!

In sharing my home and shop with others I get to connect with other like-minded peeps who 'get' me and my style, and that is such a treat!

4. How does your writing/ creating process work?

I rarely plan what I'm going to post about.  If I've recently found some great treasures while out junkin', then I'll share that.  If I've just created a new vignette that I'm excited about, then I'll post that.  I just try to focus on whatever is inspiring to me at that moment, and that usually involves good junk! :)

Well, I hope that you enjoyed learning a little more about me!

Next I'd like to introduce you to the 2 amazing bloggers that I've invited to be on this tour (they'll each be posting next Monday.)  These special ladies have very different styles and different blogs from one another, but I admire each of them for their own unique talents and personalities.

First is Donna from Distressed Donna Down Home.  I love Donna's funky style and her fun attitude!  And just look at all of that great 'junk in her trunk'! :)

"Distressed Donna Down Home, my blog, started in April, 2012.  I am a retired teacher of 22 years and have been in several antique malls over the last 16 years.  My motto?  Have junk, will travel!"

Next is Lin from A {Tiny} Cottage In The Woods.  Lin is a sweet blogger who proves that you don't have to have a lot of space to have a lot of style! She's decorated her charming cottage in an absolutely gorgeous, French farmhouse style that I adore!

"Hi! My name is Lin, and my husband and I built a tiny cottage in the woods together in the Colorado mountains. I love DIY projects, decorating in French Nordic farmhouse/cottage style, drawing, watercolors, paper crafts, gardening, and spending time in nature."

I know that you'll really enjoy these 2 wonderful bloggers!  Please visit them next Monday as they carry forth the tour!
Thanks again, Betsy, for inviting me! :)

  13. It was fun to learn more about you "behind the scenes" so to speak. I never even realized that you don't share recipes or gardening tips etc. You do write about your home, but that's what you do best! It's always fun to see what latest treasure you found and how you end up using it in your home.

  24. Hi Susan,

    I loved learning more about you (and especially seeing your cat pix -- what can I say? I'm a sucker for pretty cats!). A lovely post. I'm doing this on August 4. You were lucky you could find two bloggers to carry it forward -- I couldn't find one. (Actually, I was going to email you to participate and then I saw your post!)
