Hi, everyone!
I've been showing you bits and pieces of the sunroom changes, and now we're at the final part of the tour.
I hope you're up for seeing tons of pictures! Fair warning :)
I kept this wood table in here in the same spot, just changed the vignette on top.
These candlesticks were collected over time from different places, at bargain prices! I found the cute wrapped 'thread' at the flea market all blinged up...love them! Since this room gets a lot of sun and candles would just melt, I thought these would look great on the candleholders instead.
I placed my iron birdcage/terrarium next to the candles...
...and placed a little floral and 2 white Madonnas inside.
On the bottom shelf of the table I have a large basket filled with mags. I covered the mags with a ticking-striped pillow to tie in some soft blue.
I hung a small wreath on the window behind the table, sent to me by my dear friend Kris (Junk Chic Cottage) as part of my birthday gift back in June. Isn't it adorable?
This is all beside my newly slipcovered chair...
...which is next to the bookcase...
I've added a couple of recent fun finds to the book shelves.
This vintage metal drawer that's had a burlap patch added, and a small vintage car...both in my new favorite soft green color!
Here's a better perspective of the whole room...
I recently got this fun ice cream bucket, and placed the tall topiary in it. Again, I love the color!
I also just found this chippy mint-green bench, and placed it in front of one of the chairs.
Well, I hope that you enjoyed seeing the sunroom in its entirety!
We love spending time out here, so I wanted to create a space that is fresh and happy and inviting. I've diverted away from my mostly neutral palette with the soft blues and greens, but I'm really pleased with how it looks and feels.
Thanks so much for stopping by and for your continued prayers for my mom! You are all such a blessing!
Have a wonderful day :)
Love your pictures. So light and airy.
ReplyDeleteThis sunroom is just georgeous, with the lovely colours and antiques.

ReplyDeleteIt looks so cozy and comfortable! Wonderful space!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE every single detail!!
ReplyDeleteIt's all just smashing. The vintage touches with the subtle colors is amazing. Love it all:)
ReplyDeleteThe "new" items are great in this welcoming space. Love the ice cream bucket with the topiary. My favorite remains the Mary in front of the blue shutter. Give your mom a hug.
ReplyDeleteOh Susan,
ReplyDeleteI am must swooning over this room. I love the cute thread blings in place of candles. I may have to steal this idea. I just love it. So happy the little nest and bird that I got you made it into this sweeeeeet room. Love it all.
Kris
It turned out beautiful and looks like a perfectly soothing place to relax.
ReplyDeleteLove your sun room.........so inviting.......and the touches of blue and green are perfect!
ReplyDeleteHoping your mom is getting better every day.........blessings to her.
Looks like a day at the lake..very pretty.
ReplyDeleteVery Pretty! I like the idea of using the thread instead of candles.
ReplyDeleteSusan it all looks amazing! I would spend my entire day out there if it were my space.
ReplyDeleteOnce again you have me drooling over every detail! Love the way you used the decorated string bundles on the candlesticks. I might have to make a few of these!! Your wreath from Kris is so pretty. I noticed the rusty little VW on your shelf right away because it reminds me of my first car, a 1967 light blue VW bug.
ReplyDeleteYour room is just beautiful, the perfect place to spend a peaceful summer afternoon! I totally love the blinged out thread on the candlestick holders!

Your sunroom is absolutely delightful, Susan!! That table is a favorite of mine. Using the thread bolts as candles is brilliant...which you are! :-)
ReplyDeleteThe view of your yard from the windows is so pretty!! Such a fresh, light, yet cozy and inviting room.
Mary Alice
Jawdropping beautiful....I shrieked when I saw the bolts of thread on the candle sticks...so cute!....you must love spending time in this beautiful room you created so beautifully...I never tire of seeing your wonderful collections...This sunroom must be a place where you spend every season in..to enjoy the view of the outdoors, whether it be the beautiful leaves of Fall, or the pretty sparkling snow...
ReplyDeleteHi Susan, I absolutely ADORE your sunroom!! I love the soft colors of blue and green~~~and that's a brilliant idea for the string spools on top of the candle holder...I love that!! I know where I would spend my time....this would be so pretty on a snowing winter day with a heater, magazine/book overlooking the landscape! Blessings~~~Roxie
ReplyDeleteYour sunroom is always so pretty! I love how you styled the sofa and that trolley cart makes the most charming coffee table.
ReplyDeleteHi Susan,
ReplyDeleteI printed this post because out of all the porchrooms/sunrooms I've seen, this is my favorite. The comfortable furniture and cushions with all of the charming slipcovers, I just can't express how much I love this room. Every color, every tiny detail all speaks of home to me and the thread that mimics candles, that is so imaginative. I am over the moon about this room. From my childhood I remember people using porchrooms like this and I just remember the comfort. The pieces were slipcovered in barkcloth and there was usually an porcelain topped old kitchen table there for playing cards and eating lunch. Your room is all 2014, but the same feeling is there. To me, this is perfection. At my grandmother's house, they stored the apples in bushel baskets next to the door because it was not heated, but didn't freeze. I have so many fond memories of walking into that room where Grandpa sat reading the newspaper and Grandma was looking at recipes...and that wonderful smell of apples. I really enjoyed this post.

PERRRRR-FECT!!!! I just love everything about it!!!!
ReplyDeleteI just found a wire basket like the white one you have on your book shelf. Found a great junkin source in Facebook and she lives fairly close to me. I will pick it up this week. Not sure what I will do with the basket yet.
ReplyDeleteSusan, Your sun-room is a place that anyone would want to hang out. It's such an inviting space and so very comfy looking! I sure am loving your soft blues and greens added to your neutral palate. You definitely have the touch!! Blessings to you and still praying all is well with your mom!
ReplyDeleteI love your sun room and I got some great ideas. I just moved a bunch of tall candlesticks to the garage because I had no idea what to do with them. Now I have ideas running around my brain.
ReplyDeleteI love it all! I especially love the Madonnas and the lockers. I envy you as I have always wanted a sun/screened-in porch. The string idea is genius! Wanted you to know that I will be featuring a photo from your blog in my post tomorrow. It's all about decorating with trophies!

I am completely charmed by your sunroom, Susan! I love every detail, including the pretty touches of color!
ReplyDeleteSusan,
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday mon amie. I am late visiting you because we spent the weekend with close friends at their Westport Connecticut home and I took a blogging break.
You know Susan I feel like I always gush about your vignettes but I always adore your creative enthusiasm and how you uniquely express your style. I am truly gushing over the display of wrapped vintage thread spools sitting on the tall candlesticks! OMG a brilliant creative inspiration. ALSO how you carried the wrapped string display into the bin ... Love it!!! Your sunroom is a relaxing room of creative ideas. Wreath from Kris is all so sweet and I adore the green metal vintage VW bug car. You rocked out the sunroom in your admired style that takes us on a journey of creativity.
I am hoping to put up a new post this evening.
XO,
Vera
Your sunroom is a real showplace! What a pleasure it must be sitting in that bright space surrounded by things you love. You seem to be a natural stylist.
ReplyDeleteSusan what a beautiful spot in your home. Love those blinged threads and that terrarium is so cool. The slipcovered chair is a perfect touch and goes so well with all your accessories. You always amaze me.

I am so glad you Mom is going so well since surgery! I love your sun room, and everything in it. Those candles have such great "charn" to them. I am madly in love with your chair, and, Oh, by the way does it have wheels underneath, you know in case someone would want to wheel it out?

ReplyDeleteLOVE, LOVE, LOVE it, Susan!!! The green beetle just stole my heart and normally I'm not such a big fan of this car. The "thread candles" were a great idea. I would want to shop this room and the rest of your house as well.

ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea using the yarn instead of candles. Pretty cool looking
ReplyDeleteThis room is so inviting and sweet! I love all the little touches, especially the spools of twine blinged out and set atop the candle sticks - how creative! Thank you so much for sharing! Hugs, Leena
ReplyDeleteGorgeous room...so many things to love!
ReplyDeleteWhat is it about Mary? We aren't religious at all, yet we collect Marys/Madonnas. Perhaps it is because she is a woman? Or is it kind of like collecting statues/busts of Greek goddesses? Oh, what is it about Mary? Why do you collect them, Susan? Any insight anyone?
