Hope you're all having a great week! It's TIME...(get it?) to share the rest of our Chicago trip with you. If you missed it, check out Part 1 of the trip that my hubby and I took last week to Chicago here. Keith took this pic of all these cool clocks at one of my favorite places to visit when we're in the windy city...Randolph Street Market. We'll get back to that later...
One of our very favorite things to do in Chicago is EAT!! These little gems were our dessert at a celebrity chef restaurant called Siena Tavern.
Do any of you follow the reality/competition show 'Top Chef' on Bravo? If you do, then I'm sure that you know who this guy is: Fabio! Keith and I have watched the show for years, and are huge fans of his. Imagine our surprise when we found out that his restaurant was right around the corner from our hotel, and our delight that he was actually in the restaurant the night that we went! He splits his time between L.A. and Chicago, so we were lucky! (I debated even posting this picture because it is definitely NOT the best pic of Keith nor me, but how many times do I get to brag about meeting a celeb? We were kinda starstruck here...of course Fabio looks great :)
He was so gracious to come out and meet us, and chat for a minute. (Gotta love that Italian accent!) The restaurant is gorgeous and of course the food was amazing!
We tried a couple of other 'healthy treats' at different restaurants throughout our stay. Like this bourbon soaked bread pudding with ice cream...
...and this enormous chocolate chip cookie with ice cream...
...and of course while in Chicago you've GOTTA get one of these...
Did I mention that we like to eat?! Good thing that we did so much walking while we were there; hopefully it offset some of those calories!
So back to the Randolph Street Market...it's like a really, really good flea market, and we hit it every time we visit. Last time we were there I found these.
Is this a serious collection of chairs or what? I love these kind of chairs, and would love to own some one day. (sigh)
We saw this little guy in a warehouse/shop that we found by wandering down a side street. It would've come home with me if we lived closer, but it was a wee bit too big to fit into my suitcase-drats!! It just needs a little TLC, but I love its potential! This place had NO ambiance (hint: hard not to notice the yucky floor) but they had tons of great furniture!
I thought this was a cute display with paint brushes in a shop called Roost.
And this shop (Foursided) had all kinds of fun 'bits and pieces' to decorate with.
That's just a taste of some of the fun shopping that we did. I'll share my goodies that I brought home with you in another post. :)
Have a fantastic day!
What a fabulous trip! I love Chicago...the food, the sights...and oooohh all of your great finds! Looking forward to seeing what you were able to bring home.
