Saturday Spotlight: Jane from Blondie's Journal

Spotlight: REAL LIFE BEHIND THE BLOGGER

Hi, everyone! Myself and (Kris) Junk Chic Cottage wanted to do a regular feature on our blogs, something unique that hasn't been
done before.   So we came up with an idea to 'spotlight the real life behind the blogger' in a more personal way.
There is so much talent and inspiration in blogland, and we thought it would be fun to bring you a closer look at the person behind the blog.
Every week on Saturday we will spotlight a blogger and have them tell us a little bit about themselves and their blogs.  You will be able to see and read about each of the bloggers on both Kris's and my blog.

Today's featured blogger is Jane from Blondie's Journal.  Jane blogs about all kinds of different topics,  but one of my favorite things to read about is her gorgeous 'vacation' lake home!  (Do you detect a little jealousy there? Ok, I have to fess up...I'd LOVE a place like that! And while I'm fessing up, I wouldn't mind having those beautiful blonde locks, either! :)
Please sit back, relax, and enjoy getting to know her a little better-I know I did!  Then hop over to Kris's blog to read more about Laurel from Chipping with Charm.

Hi, everyone!  I'm Jane from Blondie's Journal.  I want to thank Susan for inviting me over for her Saturday Night Feature...The Blogger Behind The Blog.  I admit I was a little hesitant to write a post, my followers can tell you that there is little you won't know about me if you visit my blog!  I love to talk about my everyday life, my interests in cooking, gardening, decorating, reading and just about everything else under the sun.  It's all a mixed bag at Blondie's Journal.  So, I thought I would just focus on my life up until I joined the Blog World.

I started blogging over four years ago when I was on the hunt for something floral~like to hang over my mantel.  Yep!  That started it all!  I picked up a copy of Romantic Homes magazine for the very first time to get ideas for this space and some of the online shops I visited had blogs, which led to other blogs, which led to me to brilliant idea to start my own!  I jumped in head first.  And it still amazes me that my blog had a little blurb in the Romantic Homes August issue...who would have thought?!

I took a job in an office as an insurance adjuster, which was amazing since I couldn't even type!  It was an interesting job, I had a lot of friends through the years that I worked with, and I even met The Husband, an attorney, through this job, so I have to thank that employment agency!  Oh, and I will reveal for the first time in this post that The Husband's name is Al.  Just for this post only, since I'm revealing so much! lol!  So, I worked in this field right up until I had my first child eight years later.

Thanks so much, Susan.  I loved my walk down memory lane!  And anyone that's reading, I'd love for you to visit me at Blondie's Journal!

XO,
Jane

Jane, thanks so much for sharing more of your personal story with us!
Now please head over to Kris's blog to read about Laurel from Chipping with Charm!

  14. Excellent post. But I do gotta say "Al" that since Jane was the boss of the yard all those years I think you should defer to her for all gardening decisions.

  16. I really enjoyed reading more about "Blondie"! I didn't know we shared something in common. We both wanted to be flight attendants, but then after we met the man of our life, we couldn't leave! LOL! I can relate to that one. I didn't know that she married a widow with children. Stories like that make me believe it was meant to be. I'm sure she was a sunny spot in his life during that dark time. I hated to hear about her sister's death. So sad! Cancer is definitely sneaky and is taking too long to find a cure if you ask me. Sounds like she has a wonderful family.

  17. I loved reading about my friend Jane. I learned more about her and I really love her friendship. She takes you on amazing journeys when they travel and I would love to visit her lake house. It looks so peaceful and relaxing. Cancer is a nasty word and shows no mercy. I pray they find a cure for it soon because it takes so many at a young age. Her family is amazing and I am looking forward to see Emily's house. Have a safe and great Labor Day Weekend

  27. I adore Jane and her bubbly personality. I've been reading her blog forever. I did ask her to talk about her sister. Every time I visit her blog, her sister's photo somehow compels me to pause and stare at her. She looks so full of life. So tragic to hear that just shortly thereafter, she was gone. I really enjoyed Jane's rendering of her life.

  34. Thank you for sharing your beautiful life with us. I'm so happy to read about happy lives. But I also know there are down falls too. I'm sorry for your loss of a beloved sister. I just lost one of my beloved older brothers this past May to Cancer. I can relate with you on that. It looks like you were a mighty fine Mother to those precious boys. I know they must really love you. Your whole family are gorgeous. And I too love your golden locks...LOL
