(Thank you to Thoughts From Alice for featuring this post!)
Hi, everyone! Although we've still had snow as recently as last week, it's officially spring so I'm going with it!
I've really been loving soft greens and blues lately; they feel so fresh and 'spring-y' to me. So for my spring mantel I decided to add some color! I took my inspiration from these botanical prints that I got a couple of months ago. You may remember them from here.
I kept them in this chippy frame, but displayed them a bit differently than before.
From my basement I unearthed this stash of little glass bottles that I've had forever, and grouped them in front of the frame. The aqua blue and green ones add such a pretty hint of color.
To the left I stacked some old books and topped them with my silver candleabra. Next to that is a green seltzer bottle...
To the right I placed my silver monogrammed sugar bowl...
to which I added some moss and faux blue and green speckled eggs.
Next to that I placed my large silver urn...
...which is holding a topiary.
I kept up the burlap banner, and here is the finished mantel...
I tried to tie the colors together in a subtle way...
...so that the effect would be calming but still say 'spring'.
I love my neutrals, but this feels like a breath of fresh air to me!
Now I just wish that the weather would say 'spring' too! ;)
Thanks so much for stopping by...have a wonderful day!

That is very, very sweet and Springy looking. Love all your cute bottles and that banner is darling. I actually love how the silver/grey picks up the color of the stone (marble maybe?) in your fireplace surround. It really blends nicely. Happy Sunday to you- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteThis is so perfect, Susan and so you!! I love botanicals and I really LOVE the eggs and little nest in the trophy cup, original and just so pretty! You just always keep true to your love and style...two very different but similar things.!
ReplyDeleteHeard you might be coming to Chicago this summer. We are 20 minutes south of downtown so please let me know! Good times!! :)
XO,
Jane
Susan, I love your Spring vignette. We had a wonderful Spring day yesterday. Hope you get some better weather soon. xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteVery nice, soft, and subtly spring - I like it! I was afraid once the snow was gone, we'd blow right past the daffodils, forsythia, and hyacinths and right into trees leafing out, but the delayed start to spring has not disappointed - the promise is made good - eventually. :) Maybe this week for you...
ReplyDeleteSo very, very pretty! I especially love taking inspiration from the botanicals and the chippy frame! The colors are lovely, too. I'm getting out the rest of spring today. No matter WHAT it does outside! You've inspired me!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, Susan! Those botanical prints make for a great back drop.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous vignette Susan. I love the sugar bowl with the nest and eggs. That is really sweet. I love the silver candelabra too. I think you need to bring that to my house this summer. Yep that would be great LOL! Have a great Sunday.

I LOVE this, Susan!! The botanicals are soooo pretty, and I love the little bottles in the middle. Your silver urns are beautiful with the eggs and topiary. This is a new favorite...it's PERFECT!!!!

Very pretty mantel, Susan. Loving the seltzer bottle and the sliver pieces. I hear it may actually get up to sixty today and may be sunny. I can hardly wait.
ReplyDeleteSo VERY beautiful!!! Love it all.
ReplyDeleteIt's still snowing here, but now you've got me thinking of putting together a little vignette for spring. :)
Have a happy one,
Lin
I love the blues and greens that you used Susan and especially the burlap banner!
ReplyDeleteSusan,
ReplyDeleteYou rocked the Spring vignette, pretty color combination. Love the topiary in the urn and the nest and eggs in the bowl. What type of herb is the topiary? I have been wanting for a long time to have an olive tree (topiary free form) on my kitchen countertop. John just purchased me one and it's arriving next week through Amazon. I think adding topiaries are a creative way to enhance a home.
Happy Sunday!
XO,
Vera
Susan I LOVE every detail...so pretty!!
ReplyDeleteSusan...I love your Spring mantel...so pretty!! I love burlap and your burlap banner is so sweet. I'm thinking that one would look good on my corner fireplace.

I think the soft blues and greens still look neutral. They compliment what you used. Love the new look!
ReplyDeleteThe mantle looks great! I have a candelabra just like that on my list of things to look for. I haven't done my mantle yet. Lazy? maybe.
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty for spring, Susan! The big loving cup is amazing!
ReplyDeleteYour mantel turned out lovely.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
Denise
So pretty! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThe prints are so nice. It would be so cool to find the plants themselves and press them and frame each botanical print with the pant! But that is probably an impossible task,
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful!! Perfectly calming and springy!! Very, very nice!~~Angela

Glad to see your silver and color glass used on your mantel. I was thinking of doing that, but had doubts about using silver for Spring ... yours looks great, so I may just try it. Your urn and sugar silver pieces are beautiful and love the nest in the silver.
