Guest Post By My Mom!

Hi, everyone!

Well, a week and a day ago, my mom had major surgery to remove a cancerous mass from her colon.
(To read more about that go here.)
And...it's as if she never even had surgery!!  She's already doing the treadmill again (she walked 3-4 miles a day before her surgery) and eating fine (although a bland diet) and she's in no pain!
This truly shows the power of prayer!

She wrote a little something and wanted me to put it on here...her first ever blog post! :)

"I have been amazed and humbled by all the prayers, thoughts and well-wishes from "blogger-land"......when
Susan discussed her desire to post my health diagnosis on her blog (and asked for my permission) I never in
my wildest imagination could have predicted the wonderful comments, concern, and especially prayers from all of you on my behalf.....THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart.....I have read each comment and feel so incredibly blessed by the positive words, encouragements and personal stories of the power of prayer.

I gave the testimony of answered prayer to the wonderful staff who took care of me in the hospital - from the doctors to the nurses to housekeeping (they were all astonished at my recovery) - I mentioned all of you bloggers who united with our family in prayer to the Healer.  God is, indeed, faithful!!

I am feeling wonderful and haven't had to take any pain medication.  I am optimistic about the upcoming consultation - whatever the future holds, I know I am in God's capable care!!  God bless you all, and again THANK YOU!!"

My mom is such an inspiration!  I haven't heard her complain once through all of this!  When she was in the hospital all of the doctors and nurses called her their 'Queen Patient' and said that she was so easy and had the best attitude.

Again, thank you for your support and continued prayers!
I'll keep you updated on her health reports.
Have a blessed day! :)

  4. I had the same exact surgery for the exact same reason, on the exact same day it sounds like. I was looking at my treadmill last night and thinking how nice it will be when I can do that again. I'm not in the same shape she is but have the same knowledge, that through the power of prayer I was healed. Here I am 7 children and 4 surgeries later in my life and although I've walked 3 miles a day, still am not quite up to doing it again real soon, am grateful for the blessings I have to still have time to share on this earth. I learned I will not need to go through chemotherapy either, which is a complete miracle. I'm happy to hear your mom is doing so well!

  5. I'm so glad to know that your mom is recovering from her surgery so well and that her spirits are high. I believe that attitude plays a big part in the mind/body connection and helps with her recovery. I hope she gets good news from her doctor and that continues to do well.

  36. I remember the first time I saw a picture of your mom. I thought to myself, "Now that is a beautiful woman." I'm going to sleep as soon as I finish this little note and I will be praying for her as I fall asleep. When people put as much energy into their health as your mom has all these years, they do recover completely.
