Hi, everyone! I recently showed you my 'new' living room, here and here.
Now that I've dressed it up for the holidays, I'm showing it to you again-lol!
I'll start with the coffee table.
First I used an old chippy piece of barn wood as a tray.
Then I placed some branches that Keith collected for me in an old gas can...
...and hung a few brushed silver and white ball ornaments for some bling.
Next to that I placed a wicker cloche. I took this 'jingle' ribbon and tied it on to add some whimsy!
I created a simple vignette on the drawer unit beside the couch with a candlestick, a lantern, and a tiny burlap-wrapped tree.
I love to use battery operated candles...they give a pretty glow, especially at night.
Here's a peek in the other direction, toward the table by the French doors that lead to the sunroom.
I've been playing around a little with the couch pillows, too.
I swapped in one with a touch of red and one with a holiday sentiment. Not sure which way I like best...what do you think?
For another holiday touch, I filled the wire basket on the bench beside the loveseat with ornaments.
Well, I hope that you enjoyed the first part of my holiday living room!
It's all just lovely, but the pop of green with the tiny tree sets it all off. Beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteAll so pretty Susan! I love all the whites. The branches in the gas can!!! LOVE! The pillows are perfect. I especially love the it's a wonderful life one... that is my all time favorite movie. "Why'd we have to have all these kids for anyway?" My husband likes to say LOL! Have a great day friend!
ReplyDeleteLove love everything you do! It seems so serene in that space.
ReplyDeleteSusan, That is so cute the twigs in the can . I love it. Can we ever have enough lanterns...NO. LOL. It's looking good at your house. xoxo,Susie

Susan again your home is lovely in its french nordic style for Chrjstmas. Feels calm and cozy. I prefer simple touches so it is perfect to me. My home is quiet white for Christmas with only white trees, white ornaments and sacred pieces...stone Madonnas and pearl Rosaries.
ReplyDeleteThis is so natural and lovely, Susan...I love the It's A Wonderful Life pillow...
ReplyDeleteI love your simple, cream, soft and elegant touches for Christmas

I just love that "It's a wonderful life" pillow. So cute. I also love the serene white scheme. The jingle ribbon is adorable. Love it all.
ReplyDeleteOh I sure did enjoy your holiday room...I so love the branches in the watering can with the ornaments!...So cute and creative...love the room!
ReplyDeleteHi Susan your first peek of part one has me in awe. My eyes dance around with delight! The can with branches is so perfect ... The jingle ribbon I love. I fell in love with the word jingle this year for Christmas, did you make the ribbon? Love it. Your red striped pillow adds punch to your white/cream palate and I adore the "It's a wonderful life". Ya know I heard somewhere they are remaking the movie, I am excited to see a modern remake planned. Susan stop over on Friday, I and a few others have something very fun planned. Looking forward to part two of your holiday decor.

Your room is pretty from every angle, Susan! Your whites look so serene in this hectic season and I imagine it must be a calming space to come home to at the end of the day. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteI do like the touch of red and I think that is one of the things that is wonderful about your living room, you can add any color, any time. The basket on the little white stool filled with sparkling white ornaments adds a decidedly elegant touch.
