Updated Sun Room



Hi, everyone!

I thought I'd pop in and show you a few pics of my updated sunroom.

This is our favorite room throughout the warmer months of the year!  We spend a lot of time out here...enjoying our morning coffee, reading, taking naps, etc.

I found this old primitive table at a sale for $8.00.  It was literally in pieces, but all the parts were there.  I fell in love with the soft green color and chippy patina, and I knew that my dad could work his magic and put it back together for me.

Sure enough he did, and I love it!  It has a new home beside our settee, with an old blue shutter propped behind it.




I sold the 2 iron chairs that were extra seating on the other side of the room, and replaced them when I found these fun vintage wicker rockers at a local shop.

I love their 'farmhouse' vibe!




(I was in the process of stuffing grain sacks with a cushion for the seats when Bo decided he was going to take over one of the chairs for nap time!)




Instead of using a tradition table between the chairs, I stacked 2 wooden boxes for more interest.




I topped them with a lamp made out of a chippy wooden salvaged piece (from a garage sale) and some other goodies.




On the wall adjacent to the chairs I leaned an old door that a neighbor gave us, and placed a small flea market table in front of it.




I draped a grain sack over the door to lighten it up a bit...




...then topped the table with some of my favorite things.

    Your porch looks wonderful Susan. I love how you've decorated it and made it a cozy place to while away the summer days and evenings. The wicker rockers are a great find and that old table is a perfect fit. Enjoy!

    Love all of the vintage pieces in there. I think my favorite is the old boxes you stacked between the chairs.

    Your sunroom looks so comfy and inviting, Susan!! Definitely where you'd find me if I came to visit. Very nice wicker rockers...perfect addition to the room! And of course, I adore those wonderful chippy side tables!

    Your sun room looks beautiful for Summer. I have a soft spot for wicker and a collection of it throughout our cottages. Some pieces I have had for 27 yrs which I guess means that they are vintage now. Most of them are white. I like how you used boxes to create a table. It adds that french nordic touch.

    Well, at least Bo knows exactly what your beautiful sun room is intended for!! It's really great!     Susan all I can say is Bo's got the life! You are amazing with your staging of vignettes, love the boxes how they look graphic and textural. I also love your wicker rockers, well actually the entire sunroom looks inviting and pretty.

    It was interesting for me to see the Starline Crate from Harvard, Illinois. The owners have tuned that big building into individual artist's galleries. Such a brilliant idea.
