Wonderful World of Wood and Wire

(Thanks so much to Have a Daily Cup of Mrs. Olsen for featuring this post!)
Hi, everyone!  I hope you had a great July 4th 'weekend'!  While looking around my home recently I noticed that I pair wood and wire together...A LOT!!

 What can I say?

 It's not a conscious decision...

...it just seems to work out that way.

I guess the reason...

...is that I'm always drawn to rustic (aka shabby) wood pieces...

...and I never met a wire basket (or wire anything for that matter) that I didn't love!

And there's just something...

...about the combination of the two materials...

...that really appeals to me!

So I guess I'll just keep on pairing them up...

...because it makes me happy!  :)
Looks like I'm not the only one who likes wood and wire!

How 'bout you?  What do you love to mix and match together?  Have a wonderful day!

  4. Love all your wire baskets, Susan! There is just something about them that always has me stopping to look at them. Especially the ones with some curves to them.

  6. I love wire stuff too! Especially love the old wire rack you have with the vintage seltzer bottles in. I have an old rack that was my Dad's and I'm looking for the right thing to put in it. I was for gasoline bottles and the openings are smaller that milk bottles. But eventually the right things will pop up. That's what's so good about junkin' isn't it??

I always LOVE all of your "junk" girl! You have such a great way of putting things together Susan.

Have a great week - Blessings, Edie

  13. Yes...even the cat coordinates! I love wire and some natural wood mixed in with the painted pieces, too. It's a compromise of masculine/feminine and texture that makes white not look too sterile. Love it!
