The Colors of Honeycrisp

Hi, everyone!

I'm still holding on dearly to the tiniest bit of summer that we have left!  I'm a warm weather girl, and I adore the summer months.

However, a recent trip to the flea yielded these yummy Honeycrisp apples, which evoke kind of a fall feeling to me.

I was inspired to share them with you as their colors looked so pretty in my dough bowl...

...resting gently on my favorite monogrammed tea towels...

with the soft sunlight coming in...

How 'bout you?  Have you tried the Honeycrisp variety?  They're our favorite!

I'll be back soon to report on my Country Living Fair experience!

Have a fantastic day!

  3. Natural beauty - yes, please. I love braeburn and gala apples, and don't think I've tried honeycrisp, but they look like they'd be good. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on CL Fair. And I hope you'll comment on how you think it's changed over the years, for better or worse, and why. Thanks!

  4. I don't think that's a variety we have here in Australia. When I was growing up you could only get Red Delicious, Jonathon and Granny Smith. It's a different story now, but my favourite is Royal Gala.

  5. The apples bring a pretty dose of color to your dough bowl, Susan. Honeycrisp are my favorite apples, so they don't last long in my house!

  6. I've been buying gala, but will look for the honeycrisp this week! Love your photos ~ artistic.
It's going to be warm & sunny this next week (yay!), which I'm grateful for since I still have outdoor painting to do and we need to cut & stack firewood yet. I can't believe it's already the middle of September!
Have a lovely one, Susan. Hugs to you mom.

  10. Susan,
Honeycrisps YUM! Your monogrammed tea towels are beautiful displayed with the apples in your wooden dough bowl. My antique wooden dough bowl is displaying tiny boo's I found yesterday, love the tiny white pumpkins. Mother Nature oftentimes is the best designer. Enjoy your day and savor the remainder of September. I haven't found any Honeycrisps in our area yet, enjoy.

  12. I've not seen that particular type of apple, maybe they stay in the cooler states. It's still hovering about 100-104 this week, but we are supposed to get another round of storms late in the week, remnants of another hurricane in the Pacific! Enjoy your Sunday! Blessings, Cindy

  13. Susan, apples like that are art in themselves. I love honey crisp -- my very favorites. They look lovely. I'm a strong believer in using food as art/centerpieces/putting it on display. Why hide it all in the fridge?
