The Country Living Fair 2014
Hi, everyone!
As some of you know, every September I travel to Columbus (about a 2 hour drive) where my lifelong friend Suzanne lives, and we go on a shopping extravaganza!
I always get there on a Thursday, early morning, and we literally shop until late when the stores close. As she pointed out, we didn't step foot inside of one chain store...all we shopped at were independent vintage shops and an Antique Mall. The best kind of shopping as far as I'm concerned!
Then I spend the night, and on Friday we always hit the Country Living Fair. This is a fun annual tradition, one that we've done 4 or 5 years in a row now. (We've lost track!)
Thursday night we hit the small town of Canal Winchester where all the little shops and restaurants were having a fall open house.
This is the sweet storefront of our friend Polly's shop, Georgie Emerson Vintage.
It is SO charming, and was decked out in vintage goodies for fall!
How cute is this display?
I wish that I would've gotten more pics inside, but we were too busy shopping and gabbing!
Ok...here are some photos from Country Living for you. It's worth going to the show just to drool over all the gorgeous displays!
This was a really fun booth!
Suzanne actually bought this stunning birdcage! It is HUGE and I can't wait to see what she does with it!
LOVED this booth, too...
Here we are in front of these gorgeous hanging windows...
And on to some others...
We spotted a variety of dress forms...
...and lots of ironstone...
This is barely a fraction of what we saw, but you get the idea!
My head was spinning from all of the wonderful treasures everywhere!
We had a wonderful visit and shopped til we dropped...what more could a girl want?
I'll be back soon to show you the goodies that I brought home!
Thanks for stopping by...have a fantastic day :)

So funny. I just posted pictures of the fair. Your post was the next one down, hah. I honestly looked for you all day. Wonder how close we came to seeing each other. Also we both took pictures of different things. It was crowded on Friday more than Saturday. It was so much fun this year. Can't wait to see what you got.
ReplyDeleteAmazing. That would be a dream come true for anyone in the northeast (Canada)! I'd have to borrow a truck I think. Can't wait to see your treasures. Have a great day. Pam
ReplyDeleteThank you for the glimpses of the CL Fair. I would be spinning there, too! :-) I love those white arched windows - so JDL! I'll be back to see what you got. Lovely blog you have.
ReplyDeleteLara
SO much eye candy!!! I am coming back later this afternoon with a cup of tea and enjoy browsing through each and every photo!!! SO much better than looking through a magazine!!
ReplyDeleteSo are YOU the blond or the brunette??
Linda, I'm the natural (ha!) blonde :)
DeleteWow, I'm drooling over all the vintage goodies. Every booth is my favorite and I can't believe what a good job these vendors do displaying their treasures. Looking forward to seeing what you came home with.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great time with some even better eye candy! Loved many of the booths you showed and will have to pin some for inspiration...♥

I love seeing all these booths, Susan - thank you for sharing. When I saw that huge birdcage with the chandy hanging inside, it got my head spinning for a new way to use a light without needing to hard wire (I like that!). Love all the ironstone (and brown transferware behind it) - that counter with that and the vintage luggage above made my heart go pitter patter. And I love the baseballs in the urn. Thanks for your well wishes on our upcoming sale - the weather looks promising, I just hope we get lots of [buying] traffic! Our prices are ridiculously good overall.
ReplyDeleteNow, what did you buy?!
WHAT FUN, WHAT GREAT FUN!! Awesome birdcage your BFF bought! Nothing better than spending time with your BFF and "shopping" at those great places.
ReplyDeletewarmly,
deb
Susan,
ReplyDeleteNow you went and did it my friend!!! I'm going after this comment to google when Renninger's extravaganza in Adamstown, Pa is scheduled. Early Spring and early Fall are the best time of year to experience like you did with your friend the offerings at your Country Living Fair and our Renninger's. You have me scrolling and looking at all the amazing items you saw. I surely hope you do a post of all your amazing purchases. Love these kind of flea fairs that cause hearts to race and eyes to delight in finds that truly are one of a kind. John goes with me in the hunt and capture for we both adore our vintage collections. Your friend Suzanne's birdcage is incredible. Wired through a table below she could copy the display with a chandelier inside, no need for wiring it above. Please share all your wonderful finds in a future post.
XO,
Vera
Well, now I know what I need to put on my calendar for next year. That and winning the lotto because boy, would I be in trouble. I love those windows -- I have a small one in my hal and it's one of my favorites! Looks like a fabulous time with a good friend and good shopping, too!

Thanks for sharing your photos, Susan. I dream of attending a big show like that one day so you can imagine I am checking out each photo to see all the pretty goods. How lovely that you went with a friend. I usually end up going to (much smaller) places around here by myself as my sister/bff does not enjoy anything decor related (yet we are sooo similar in other ways.)

ReplyDeleteOh, Susan, I forgot you were going, too. I should have contacted you to meet up somewhere. There were soooo many things at the fair that I wanted to buy, but couldn't because I flew and couldn't get some of the stuff back with me on the plane. There were four HUGE corbels that I would have purchased in a heartbeat along with lots of fretwork, but I couldn't figure out how to get it home. I did bring home four smaller corbels, though, so there's that!
